THE OTHERS - LOS OTROS

During this month, we should watch the Spanish movie Los Otros - The others.
It is a very interesting movie, maybe you cannot learn from it about Spanish customs or culture, but you can really know how it is possible for an Spanish director and technical team to prepare a very well done and imaginative movie. They will live alone there with oppressive, strange and almost religious rules, until she needs to hire a group of servants for them.     Thanks to Alejandro Amenábar.I was impressed by it’s orginality. We are not scared by cheap tricks.

    I agree with you. It is a movie that maybe it is not representative about Spanish history or customs but it is an example of how a very high quality cinema can be done in Spain, with imagination and a really good script and idea.

    Something curious is to know that, for example, my grandfather and his father used to have a funerary company and we had at home pictures with death people, above all children, exactly as it is shown in Los Otros.

    It's the kind of movie that lets you escape reality for a while by entertaining you, but at the same time, returns you to the "real world"wondering if there isn't some possibility of truth... Chilling.
